Hurricane Volunteer Support Fund
In the wake of the recent hurricanes, the Corporation is coordinating volunteers to assist with repair and relief efforts in areas affected by this devastating storm. Your donation will support volunteers in providing food and shelter, managing donations, helping victims get necessary assistance, and long-term rebuilding efforts.

Corporation Grant Programs

 

The Corporation administers a number of grant programs and other initiatives that provide resources to institutions of higher educations, as well as to other non-profit, community, and faith-based organizations. Many of those programs are listed below. For additional information, including an interactive program finder, click here

  • Learn and Serve America makes approximately $10 million in grants to institutions of higher education each year to provide and promote high-quality service-learning opportunities. These grants support more than 90,000 college students.
        
  • AmeriCorps makes approximately $40 million in grants to institutions of higher education each year to provide service opportunities for more than 17,000 students.
        
  • AmeriCorps*VISTA provides support for nearly 500 AmeriCorps*VISTA members to serve with or through 60 institutions of higher education—an investment valued at more than $6.5 million per year.
        
  • Senior Corps awards approximately $10 million in grants each year to institutions of higher education for the purpose of recruiting and placing volunteers ages 55 and over to meet a variety of needs in their communities.
        
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is a national effort to use Dr. King’s life and teachings to transform the holiday in his honor into community service that empowers and strengthens local communities. The Corporation awards grants to promote service projects tied to the holiday.
